Overview

 

The Job of Facilities Maintenence Engineer (HVAC Tech) will be to provide HVAC service with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs, installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment. This position will also include skilled laborer duties including plumbing, electrical, flooring, painting and minor construction assisting.

 

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses causes of problems and /or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and /or replacement needs.
  • Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
  • Installs heating and air-conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
  • Performs routing and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems.
  • Repairs heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable work environment.
  • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
  • Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the job site.
  • Basic Skilled laborer duties including Carpentry (such as molding, doors, windows, framing), basic plumbing, and basic electrical work, and painting.
  • Complete work in a timely, neat, and professional manner.
  • Must be professional, courteous, and respectful to customers as well as fellow employees.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, manager, and co-workers
 

Qualifications

 

 

  • Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools associated with the HVAC field

 

 

  • High School Diploma
  • EPA Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HVAC Technician.
  • Some previous experience as a skilled laborer preferred.
